Sonic Cocktails

Can we taste woodland sunlight, hear the scent of roses, or smell the sound of the barber’s clippers..!?

These are intriguing questions which Condiment Junkie, the sensory experience architects, will be exploring at this interactive masterclass.

These long-time collaborators with the world’s most innovative chefs and food/drink brands will be taking guests on an elegant synaesthetic journey as they enjoy three unique cocktails; the Woodland Martini, the Rose and the Barbershop Fizz.

Prof. Charles Spence, Head of the Crossmodal Research Lab at Oxford University, will be on hand explaining the neuroscience underpinning the perceptual effects.

And there will be plenty of experiments to participate in and enjoy as we further our understanding of these crossmodal effects on our senses.

This unique event is taking place at 69 Colebrooke Row on October 20th 2012, 2-4pm, £25pp…

Ferragosto 2012

It’s that time again…
As usual we shall be seeing out the height of summer in our traditional Italian style – Ferragosto.
Taking place on Sunday 19th August from 2pm onwards. Our fair’s fayre this year will be a real treat – provided exclusively by none other than Giorgio Locatelli. The music will have that distinct Italian flavour also, coming as it will from blues legend Emanuele Fizzotti… Cool!
This year’s event is an open invitation with the cocktails being sold at the special price of £5.00 each – so bring your friends and we’ll see you then.

69 Colebrooke and Paul A. Young Chocolates

A Valentines Day collaboration with neighbour artisan chocolatier, Paul Young has stirred up quite a bit of interest! We partnered with Paul to create chocolate bites flavoured as some of our featured menu cocktails and are so impressed with the results, they’ve been selling out of the shop in Camden Passage and we’re working on our next selection!

Stop by the shop and sample some for yourself before swinging by for a Lipstick Rose or Liquorice Whisky Sour!

69 Colebrooke Row presents Leblon Tasting Lunch

On Monday lunch, a group of bartenders and industry notables visited the bar with no name for a collaborative lunch between Leblon Cachaça and 69 Colebrooke Row.

The bar was gutted and the red and black seating replaced with white linen drapery, and the lab invaded by an oven and kitchen set up.
The menu consisted of a welcome drink of a Fig and Liquorice Caipiriñha, then a four course meal, with each course matched by a Leblon cockatil designed by Tony (see menu, with the alteration of the Foam utilising a rose hydrosol to compliment the more prominent note of mint in the canapé)

Each drink was introduced by Tony with the rationale behind each cocktail, its pairing and the techniques involved diverged to the guests. As to be expected, a convivial atmosphere ensued with many discussions regarding the techniques, and several anecdotes regarding Brazil and Leblon flowing.
